FREE LEGAL ADVICE FOR THE ELDERLY
17.01.2008
Age Concern Neath Port Talbot continue to provide free legal advice surgeries for the older residents of Neath and Port Talbot. The advice sessions, part of a financial inclusion project, “Money Matters”, funded by the Big Lottery, provides older people with improved access to important legal and financial advice. Working in partnership with two law firms - Hutchinson Thomas Solicitors and Leo Abse & Cohen Solicitors the charity is offering one to one surgeries to the county’s older people and their carers.

Age Concern NPTs Deputy CEO, Kirk Davies, said: “these free advice sessions are not only beneficial to the older people in our communities but also for their carers. If you are younger person looking after someone over 50 then you can also access this important, free service.”
Mr. Davies went on to say, “The advice sessions are being held monthly in both Neath and Port Talbot, and further plans are underway to extend the project to a third venue in Pontardawe. We have recently seen a drop in the numbers of people accessing this service in the Port Talbot Area, I do urge the people of Port Talbot to utilize this free service or it’s a case of use it or lose it as we have numerous requests to relocate the service to other areas within the County Borough.”
Anyone wishing to access this free service should make an appointment through our office in Neath Abbey on 08700 602141
